“True Blood” Casting News! Lafayette Gets A Man!

For those True Blood fans out there good news, Lafayette is getting a boyfriend…and he’s no vampire (yet).

The colorful Lafayette, played excellently by Nelsan Ellis, has been missing out on all the play-play going on in Bon Temps, the town in which vampires, shifshapers, and crazy ass bitches run free.

(Although, I did hear a rumor, SPOILER, that Lafayette and Eric were supposed to get a little…close with one another. Hmm, we’ll see if that pans out.)

Reports show that latino actor, Kevin Alejandro, some dude who starred in Southland and other cancelled shows, has been cast as Lafayette boyfriend, who also takes care of Lafayette’s mother, played by Alfre Woodard (woot-woot!).

Should be interesting? What do you think of this piece of casting news? Good choice?

Oh Thank God! Kate Gosselin Not Getting Her Own Dating Show!

So, there is a God? Not that I doubted it, but this has to prove it. Forget finding Jesus’ tomb or the cross he carried. This piece of news proves that he does answer our prayers.

I was beginning to wonder if this story would turn out to be true, but thankfully it isn’t.

Kate Gosselin, you know that one chick who divorced that fat dude, but not before starring in a reality show raising their eight kids, was rumored to be in talks of receiving her own reality show, after Jon & Kate plus Eight was cancelled.

This is not new, as we have known for a while that she was going to receive her own show with TLC. But when reports were suggesting that the show would be a dating show, I about sh*t my pants. I prayed that this wasn’t true and that someone would just offer her a spot on Dancing with Stars to distract her from this idea.

Luckily, somone at TLC listened and a rep from the network has confirmed that Kate Gosselin will not be appearing in a dating show. Thank GOD! But they will not say what kind of show will premiere in the spring of 2010 with Gosselin.

So, we just have to wait and see. I think not telling what the show is about signals one of two things (or both!): 1) TLC still has no friggin’ idea what they are going to do with this woman and/or 2) They are trying really hard to keep Kate Gosselin’s name in the news and rev up buzz for this new “mystery” show.

Either way, I know my ass will be plopped in front of the tube when her show debuts. Whether I stay past the first commercial…now, that’s asking a lot.

Tyra Banks Cancels ‘The Tyra Banks Show.’ Copy much?

Should this really be shocking? I don’t think so really seeing that Oprah Winfrey is her idol and we all know what Oprah did about a month ago.

Tyra Banks, that one chick who used to be a supermodel, then turned into some host of a reality show about aspiring models, has decided to cancel her two-time Emmy award winning (I know right!?) talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, or simply, Tyra.

After 4 full seasons on the air, Banks has decided that time will run out when the show ends its current 5th season in Spring 2010. The reason?

“My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are.”

Okay, so that really wasn’t a reason. Lol. But according to Banks, the reason why she wants to take her show off the air (besides follwing in the footsteps of Oprah) is because she wants to focus on building Bankable Studios, the model’s production company. With the company, she promises to provide films geared at insipiring women, old and young.

Hmm, kind of like Oprah did with Precious?

Jersey Lawmakers Ask MTV to Cancel “Jersey Shore”

Yeah, MTV is going to cancel one of their most highly rated programs because a bunch of old people disagree with the show’s direction. Good luck with that.

The New Jersey Italian American Legislative Caucus has asked MTV to cancel Jersey Shore because they find the program, “wildly offensive.” The lawmakers are also encouraging advertisers to back away from the program because it “promotes derogatory ethnic stereotypes.”

I just watched the show for the first time a couple of days ago and as much as I hate to say this, but I really kind of enjoyed it…in a car crash can’t look away type of enjoy.

Fox Really Doesn’t Care If Simon Leaves A.I.

Fox doesn’t seemed phased by reports that Simon Cowell could possibly be leaving “American Idol” at the end of 2010.

Fox reportedly is close to inking a deal with the popular show’s producers, FreemantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, to keep the show moving along at least 3 years past its current contract; the current contract states the show will remain on the air until 2011.

Can America really take that much more American Idol? I mean 2014 is a long ways away and American Idol has been losing viewers each year, for the past 3 seasons.

I predict that Simon will probably leave in the next year or two and American Idol, even with these contract extensions and negotiations, will follow right behind him.

American Idol without Simon Cowell is like macaroni and cheese without the cheese. Just plain and boring. I don’t know about you but I like my macaroni with a little zest.

Apple To Change The Way We Watch TV? Damn Straight.

Cable, begin packing your bags because I believe your days are numbered, that is, if Apple has its way.

CBS and Disney are reportedly in talks with Apple, the computer giant and maker of the popular iPhone, to begin streaming their shows through a new subscription service being offered by Apple.

If this subscription service and deal pays off, viewers will be able to pay a monthly, rumored to be around $30, fee for the shows they want to watch and only those. No longer will you have to purchase a cable package and pay for stations you hardly watch.

I never understood why cable packages weren’t set up that way. Why do I have to pay for the Golf Channel when I don’t watch nor care for golf? Same thing with the TVGuide Channel. We all know that channel is pointless.

Apple’s subscription service would deal another huge blow to the cable companies if the rumored payment price of $2 to $4 per subscriber for broadcast networks and $1 to $2 for cable companies sticks. (This is important because that is how the networks would make a profit from their shows)

CBS would offer programming from its lineup, which include hit shows from CBS and CW. Disney would offer shows from its Disney Channel, ABC and ABC Family programming stations.

I think this is an awesome ideas and I hope other stations will follow suit and jump on this internet bandwagon. If it were up to me, Apple and Google would run the Internet, hands down.

Of course they would have to include me in their plans in world domination, but hey, a boy can dream.

Dell Pulls Out of MTV’s “Jersey Shore”

Well, another one bites the dust. Computer maker, Dell, has pulled its ads from the hit MTV show, “Jersey Shore,” calling the program derogatory and the company does not “condone or support ethnic bashing in any form.” This is the 3rd sponser to be pulling their ads from the show. Dominos and American Family Insurance were the first to be scared away from the “Shore.”

But even though the advertisers are running for the hills (also a lame ass program on MTV), viewers are still sticking around.

Jersey Shore, last week, pulled in more than 2.5 million viewers Thursday night, making it one of MTV’s most watched programs.

Of course this may have something to due with the fact that one of the cast member’s Snooki (yes, Snooki) was punched in the face at bar, while the cameras were rolling. MTV has since edited the video out of the broadcast, but if you understand the meaning of the word YouTube, I’m sure you can find the video with no problem.

SPOILER! Survivor Picks A Winner!

I don’t watch “Survivor,” you know that one show that has been on CBS for that past 18 friggin’ seasons (or something like that). Anyway, the latest iteration of the “Survivor” series, “Survivor: Samoa,” has picked a winner! I won’t spoil for it for you, so if you want to know who won, you can find out after the jump. If you don’t care, well then, um, that’s good for you. Welcome to the club.

Jon & Kate Plus Divorce=PRAISE JESUS!

I’m no advocate for divorce. I like to see couples work out their issues and try to make things right for their family, especially if there are children involved. But, look, this Jon&Kate shit is getting real old. We have been talking about them for WAY too damn long. And finally, our prayers have been answered.

Jon and Kate Gossellin (at this point, I don’t give a rat’s ass on spelling their last name correctly) are days away from their divorce being finalized. Don’t you feel like we, the public, should be getting some part of the divorce settlement for having to deal with this bullshit.

According to Kate’s lawyer, the divorce is just waiting for a judge’s signature and should be settled within the month. Details about who gets what are not known yet and probably won’t be disclosed until TMZ works its voo-doo magic and gets the scoop.

‘A Beautiful’ Beginning…Again?

So Ashton Kutcher produced this craptastic show, “The Beautiful Life,” starring that chick from that one craptastic Fox show, “The O.C.” Why is this important? After airing only two episodes on the CW, the network cancelled the show and it became the first casualty of the new season.

But somehow, by the grace of God (and given that you can post shit for FREE on the site…ANYONE can do this), Ashton Kutcher is airing the rest of the episodes on YouTube. But the question is, if no one watched it television, why do you think we will watch your shit online?
